This bill revises multiple previously passed acts. Definitions from the Flood Level Observation, Operations, and Decision Support Act, a bill passed to improve flood warning systems, data collection, and research, are changed to be more specific and accurate. The same definitions and others would be changed in the National Landslide Preparedness Act which was passed to authorize a hazards reduction program. Funding for the National Landslide Preparedness Act would be increased form $25,000,000 to $35,000,000.
This bill would also alter The Act of December 24, 1942, law passed to cut costs by improving federal data collection to decrease duplicate reports. It would be expanded to include a more accessible data collection system for water quality and quantity. Funding till fiscal year 2028 would be increased from $10,000,000 to $30,000,000.
